Make An Edible Container Garden

Registration fee includes potting medium and compost starter.  Organically grown plants and containers will be for sale or you can bring your own container.

Create your own container garden filled with alpine strawberries, rainbow chard, violas and other tasty tidbits organically grown in the Green Pony gardens.

Putting The Garden To Bed & Waking It Up For A Blooming Winter
2 to 4 p.m. at the Hillsborough Wine Company's garden at 118 South Churton Street in historic Downtown Hillsborough (parking and garden are in back of store, both of which are accessible from Margaret Lane).

$15 per person (space limited to 8 people)
Blooming plants for fall and winter, as well as compost starter will be for sale.  Someone from Benson Nursery on Guess Road in Durham will be on hand to take orders for rain barrels.

Learn about pruning and dividing perennials, plus you will get to take home some of perennials we divide that day so bring a pot or two with you.  Also you will create your own winter container garden using a wooden wine box and featuring colorful pansies, chard and mustards.  You will plant using compost starter from Green Pony Garden and from the Wine Company's own compost container, and you will learn about sighting, and use of, rain barrels.

Registration fee includes potting medium and fresh greenery.  Natural ornaments for your wreath, as well as organically grown plants will be for sale.

Create wreaths and swags using living greenery, berries and cones from trees on Finnabar Farm.  This is the perfect time of year to bring fragrant pine, holly and cedar home for the holidays.
